Why Manorly

What You Can Expect

Hands-on teaching

Every session is led by an educator who works alongside you. There are no video recordings or self-paced modules — just a quiet room, a table, and a task to finish together.

Materials included

Paper, folders, archival boxes, printing materials, and binding supplies are all provided. Participants leave with physical items they made during the session.

Unhurried pace

Sessions are not timed to a strict clock. The educator moves with the participant. Nobody is asked to work faster than they are comfortable with.

Home visits available

The Archive Coordination Program includes visits to your home so that physical documents and heirlooms can be assessed and labeled in the place they already live.

Small group or individual

Sessions are run with very small numbers so the educator can pay attention to each participant's material and pace. Individual bookings are welcome.

Educational scope only

Manorly workshops are educational. They cover writing, design, and organisation. They do not include advice on personal or family matters or any work that calls for a qualified specialist.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Who are these workshops for?

The workshops are open to any adult who wants to work with their family's written records, photographs, or small objects. No prior experience with writing, design, or archiving is needed. Sessions are conducted in English.

What do I need to bring?

For the Bookplate Workshop and the Writing Workshop, you do not need to bring anything. All materials are provided. For the Archive Coordination Program, the educator will ask to see the documents, photographs, and objects you would like to organise before the first visit.

Where do sessions take place?

The Bookplate and Writing workshops are held at our studio at 491 Ratchaprarop Road, Makkasan, Ratchathewi, Bangkok. The Archive Coordination Program includes home visits within Bangkok and the inner metropolitan area.

How long does each session last?

The Bookplate Workshop runs for approximately three hours. Each of the three Writing Workshop sessions runs for two to two and a half hours. Home visits for the Archive Program each run for two to three hours depending on the volume of material.

What is included in the price?

All session prices include educator time, studio space or home visit travel within Bangkok, and all materials — printing paper, archival folders, bookplate sheets, binding supplies, and box labels as appropriate to the program.

Are these sessions advisory in any way?

No. Manorly workshops are educational and organisational only. The educator teaches writing, design, and labeling. The sessions do not include personal or family advice, legal, financial, or medical guidance, or any work that calls for a qualified specialist.

Can I book for a family group?

Yes. Small family groups are welcome for the Writing Workshop and the Bookplate Workshop. Please enquire in advance so the educator can prepare enough materials and ensure the session size stays comfortable. The Archive Coordination Program is typically booked by one adult but may include a second family member for the final reading session.

How do I pay?

Payment details are shared after your booking is confirmed. Bank transfer is accepted. A small deposit secures your place; the remainder is due before the first session begins.
